CHANGING PERCEPTIONS OF CUISINE IN THE CITY
Thanks to Sunita, who has been trained in cooking, DCCW communities can look forward to widening their horizons.
For two weeks in May, Sunita taught our girls and any Mothers who cared to join, dishes ranging from Dhoklas to Jalebis. The girls brought their own utensils and raw materials and Sunita did not charge anything!
Here is a picture of the girls – Sunita is wearing Blue and a pink dupatta.
The next step is for the girls to make a deal with the men in their families to sell their wares on “Thelas” or supply families in the community. They will be given a brief course on accounts and pricing to start them on their entrepreneurship.
This programme will be taken to five other Centres this year.
Hot jalebis anyone?
