Taruna

Meet Taruna Pant - another of our children who has overcome heavy odds to shape her own future.

Taruna's education has been sponsored by Delhi Council for Child Welfare through our Education sponsorship programme. Although she finished with very good marks, her family could not afford to send her for further training and Taruna's heart was set on becoming a teacher.

We found a sponsor who undertook to see her through her Teacher's Training and after that Taruba got a job in Sarvodaya School, earning Rs. 9,000/- per month. This is three times what her mother earned to support the family of five!
